NH Selects Tryouts
NH Selects tryouts are structured to be organized, efficient, and consistent across all age groups. The goal is to create a professional environment where players can compete at their best and families clearly understand the process.
Arrival & Check-In
Players should arrive early to allow time for check-in and preparation. Upon arrival:
Players will receive a penny and locker room assignment
Players are expected to get dressed and be ready ahead of their scheduled ice tim
Being on time and prepared is part of the overall tryout experience.
Pre-Ice Meeting
Before players take the ice, the coach will meet with the team in the locker room. During this meeting:
Program standards and expectations will be outlined
Players will be briefed on how the session will run
Expectations for effort, focus, and professionalism will be set
This meeting helps ensure everyone begins the tryout on the same page.
On-Ice Session & Parent Meeting
Players will then take the ice for their tryout session. The on-ice portion is designed to give staff a clear look at each player within a competitive and structured environment.
While players are on the ice, parents will attend a meeting with the Director of Hockey, where the following will be discussed:
Overview of the NH Selects program
Expectations for the upcoming season
Team commitments and structure
Communication and next steps
This meeting is informational and ensures families understand what participation in the program requires.
Post-Ice Results
After the ice session concludes, players will wait for the Day 1 list to be posted. This list will indicate:
Players who will continue in the tryout process
Players who require further evaluation
Results will be communicated clearly and promptly.
Moving Forward
Players selected to continue are expected to attend all remaining tryout sessions
Continued attendance is required as part of the evaluation process
Players not selected at this stage will conclude their tryout process with NH Selects
We sincerely wish those players the best in their upcoming season
Final Note
NH Selects tryouts are competitive and intentional. Our staff values preparation, effort, and professionalism throughout the process. Players are encouraged to control what they can, compete hard, and respect the structure of the tryout.
We appreciate everyone’s time and commitment and look forward to evaluating this year’s group.
