8U Selects Development
8U Development
Your player's first real team experience. PEP-based training, structured practices, and a development-first environment where young players learn what it means to be part of something bigger.
The 8U Development program is your player's first full team experience with NH Selects. Designed for players ages 8 and under who have the skating and basic puck skills to move into structured team play, this program focuses on building a strong foundation through fun, fundamentals, and a love of the game.
Players train using the Power Edge Pro (PEP) system with two 60-minute shared ice sessions per week and one off-ice session per week. Coaches introduce team concepts, positional awareness, and game-situation play in an environment that emphasizes development over competition.
No tournament travel is required at this level. The focus is entirely on building skills, building habits, and building the kind of player who's ready for more.
8U Development is where young players transition from learning skills to playing as a team.
8U Major
Three touchpoints per week keep players engaged and developing consistently throughout the season.
Every practice is structured around building the complete young player — skills, understanding, and character.
Full hockey equipment is required for all on-ice sessions.
Their First Team Starts Here
Give your player the foundation they need — PEP training, professional coaching, and a team that's built around development.
