Our Mission

Established in 2023, the NH Selects mission is to provide a comprehensive and enriching experience that extends beyond the game of hockey. We believe in fostering the character development of each player and creating a supportive environment where parents and players alike can thrive.

Development-First Hockey

NH Selects is built on a simple principle: elite development requires elite training methods. We don't just play games — we build complete hockey players through proven, research-backed development systems.

What truly sets us apart is our dedication to professional, non-parent coaching. USA Hockey certified coaches who bring objectivity, expertise, and a focus on long-term development rather than short-term glory.

As a Power Edge Pro Center of Excellence, we deliver research-backed training methods. In our PEP skill sessions, Power Edge Pro training equipment delivers up to 5× more skill repetitions than traditional drills, and our video analysis increases skill retention by 40%.

Our Non-National Bound Teams

NH Selects Non-National Bound team schedules come from two sources: league games scheduled by the NHAHA Granite State League (GSL), and independent games and tournaments scheduled by NH Selects. Each team is offered in one of two season formats.

Same league. The difference is what happens after November.

At 16U and 18U, the Granite State League plays in the fall only (September–November). Every 16U and 18U team plays the same fall league schedule, and league play ends in November for everyone.

  • Split Season teams finish their season with the league in November.
  • Full Season teams keep going. NH Selects schedules independent games and tournaments through the end of the season.

School Partnerships

Full Season Hybrid

The Full Season Hybrid is a full season with NH Selects, adjusted for players who are also in a school hockey season. It is available by approval through NH Selects school partnerships (currently Tilton School). When the school season begins in December, Hybrid players move to a hybrid schedule so they can do both, without doing the same work twice.

Phase 2 · Dec–End · Hybrid Schedule

In Phase 1, Hybrid players follow the same program as every teammate. In Phase 2, only the items below change.

Expectations for Full Season Hybrid Players
  • Phase 1 (Sep–Nov): Full participation, the same as every teammate
  • Phase 2 (Dec–End): At least 2 NH Selects practices per week. The 3rd (skill session) is optional, and we’d love to see you there.
  • Games: Dress for all independent home and away games
  • Tournaments: Play in every tournament game you are able to attend
The Hybrid Is a Commitment, Not a Pass

A great practice needs a full sheet of ice. Your coaches build every session and every game lineup around who will be there, and your teammates count on you showing up. When Hybrid players commit, everyone gets better.

Choosing the Hybrid means committing to the schedule above for the whole season: be at your practices and dress for your games. If a conflict comes up, let your coach know as early as you can.

The Hybrid is approved each season, and a player’s commitment is part of what we look at when approving it again.

Why a Hybrid?

During the school season, the partner school’s hockey staff already runs goalie training and strength & conditioning for its players. Rather than double-load them, the school handles those pieces, and NH Selects keeps Hybrid players fully part of their team with practices, video, games and tournaments. Every other player on the roster keeps the complete NH Selects program all season.

Common Questions
“I heard our team plays in the GSL ‘Split Season’ division. Does our season end in November?”
Only if you’re on a Split Season team. “Split Season” is also the Granite State League’s name for its 16U/18U fall league, which every 16U and 18U team plays in. Full Season and Full Season Hybrid players continue after November with NH Selects independent games and tournaments.
Who makes our game schedule?
Two sources. The Granite State League sets league games and league game counts. NH Selects schedules independent home and away games, against opponents with similar MyHockeyRankings ratings, and tournaments.
Is the Full Season Hybrid a Split Season?
No. Hybrid players are Full Season players. They play the full program in the fall and keep playing with their NH Selects team after November, on a hybrid schedule during their school hockey season.

This is a summary. Full Season Hybrid participation is governed by the school partnership addendum included with the player’s offer (for 2026–27: Addendum A – Tilton School Partnership), which is incorporated into the Player Financial Policy & Participation Agreement.

Proposed Weekly Schedule

The following schedules are anticipated and not guaranteed. Schedules may vary based on facility availability, staffing, and operational needs. Full Season Hybrid players: see the Full Season Hybrid section for Phase 2 adjustments.

Program Notes

Program Flexibility & Changes

Programming elements described in this guide reflect general offerings and may vary based on age level, staffing, facility availability, league participation, and operational needs. Coaching assignments, instructors, and practice locations are determined by NH Selects and may change during the season. No specific coach or facility is guaranteed.

⚠ Baseline Concussion Testing — Mandatory

All NH Selects players must complete baseline concussion testing prior to the season start. Players will not be cleared to participate in Training Camp or any team activities without it on file. NH Selects will share contact information for our recommended testing provider. Families schedule and pay directly with the provider.

What's Not Included — But Required

Uniforms & Gear — NH Selects home and away game jerseys and socks, track suit, gloves, pant or shell, equipment bag, and black helmet.

Tournament Fees & Testing — State, Regional, and National tournament entry fees. Baseline concussion testing (required before season start).

NH Selects may, from time to time, offer Team Store discounts or promotions. Any such discount/promotion is discretionary and not included in the Program Fee unless expressly stated in the Player's Offer.

What It Takes

At NH Selects, development is the destination — but getting there requires commitment from every player and family.

  • 1
    Hard Work
Don't believe in luck — believe in hard work. Talent opens the door, but effort is what walks through it every single day.
  • 2
    Patience
Development is not a straight line. If you lose patience, you lose the battle. Trust the process and the results will follow.
  • 3
    Sacrifice
If you don't sacrifice for what you want, then what you want becomes the sacrifice. Growth requires giving something up to gain something greater.
  • 4
    Consistency
Consistency is what transforms average into excellence. Show up, put in the work, and do it again tomorrow.
  • 5
    Discipline
Motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you growing. The players who reach the next level are the ones who do the work when no one is watching.
  • 6
    Self-Confidence
Confidence isn't "they will like me." Confidence is "I'll be fine if they don't." Believe in your preparation and trust your abilities.
  • 7
    Positive Attitude
A positive attitude won't solve all your problems, but it will carry you through more of them than you'd expect. Focus on your goals, not your obstacles.
  • 8
    Focus
Keep your eyes on the target. Distractions will always be there — your ability to stay locked in on what matters is what separates good from great.
At NH Selects, we believe developing complete hockey players requires more than ice time. Our comprehensive approach combines cutting-edge training, professional coaching, specialized instruction, and a supportive community environment.

From your first tryout to the final game of the season, you'll experience a program built on excellence, safety, character development, and community.

We look forward to welcoming you to the NH Selects family.
