8 & Under Development

Start your hockey journey here!! The NH Selects are members of USA Hockey New Hampshire Amateur Hockey Association (NHAHA) playing in the Granite State League (GSL).

The progression of a beginner players skill starts with Learn to Skate (LTS), a transition to Learn to play (LTP) once competent skating ability is obtained. During learn to play the player will learn basic skills and receive an introduction to the game of hockey. Upon completion of LTP, skill level and development will determine where they will play next.

Mite development more commonly known as 8U Development is where multitasking, reactive countering, edge work, puck control will be introduced to Power Edge Pro (PEP) circuits where they will receive 5X the repetitions in comparison to any other program.

In my experience 8 and under is one of the most important times in a players development. This is when learning the right way is vital so good habits and technique can be engrained into motor memory. Breaking bad habits later in a players development which was learned from programs who are not concerned with the "right way" is much more difficult and hinders the players growth and advancement.

24-25 8U Development

Join the NH Selects PEP Center of Excellence Instructors for a full season of skill development. A players ability to multitask (use the hands, feet and brain simultaneously) is best trained at the 6U and 8U levels when motor functions are developing.

Players will experience multiple circuits and 5X's the repetitions than other programs offer. These reps will teach forward and backward edge control, puck placement, reactive countering, shooting, hockey IQ and much more.

Give your player a competitive advantage by working with the NH Selects, PEP Center of Excellence.

This full season program will set your player up for future success.
