We're not looking for the best skaters. We're looking for the best teammates, the hardest workers, and the most coachable players in the state.

March 14 & 15 Sessions Canceled

Registration for the 2026–27 season has been strong, and the players we've already evaluated give us a clear picture of our rosters. The tryout sessions scheduled for Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 at Tilton School Ice Rink have been canceled.

Offers have gone out to selected players. If you have not seen yours, please check your spam folder — the offer will come from NH Selects via the Crossbar platform.

Tryout Dates & Times

All tryouts take place at Tilton School Ice Rink. Players should arrive 30 minutes early, dressed and ready to go. Multiple sessions per age group give evaluators a full picture of each player.

What to Expect

Tryouts are a competitive evaluation. Come ready to work. Here's what you need to know before you step on the ice.

Full Equipment Required Players must arrive in full hockey gear including helmet, gloves, pads, skates, stick, and hockey pants. No exceptions.
Arrive 30 Minutes Early Be dressed and ready to hit the ice at your scheduled time. Late arrivals may not be evaluated.
Skating & Skills Evaluation Evaluators will assess skating ability, puck skills, hockey IQ, and compete level through drills and game-situation play.
Attitude Matters We evaluate character as much as skill. Body language, coachability, effort, and how you interact with other players are all being watched.
Multiple Sessions Most age groups have two evaluation dates. Attend both to give evaluators the best look at your game.
$40 Tryout Fee Payable at registration. Fee covers ice time and evaluation for all sessions in your age group.

What Our Evaluators Look For

Talent gets you noticed. Character gets you selected. Here's what separates the players who make this team.

Compete Level How hard do you go when it matters? We watch for effort on every rep, not just when you have the puck.

Hockey IQ Positioning, anticipation, reads. Can you see the play before it happens?

Skating Ability Speed, edges, agility, and balance. Your feet are your foundation.

Puck Skills Hands, passing, shooting. Can you execute under pressure?

Coachability Do you listen? Do you adjust? Do you respond to instruction without ego?

Body Language Head up, engaged, encouraging teammates. We see everything—including what you do when you think nobody is watching.

Tryout FAQ
Why were the March 14 & 15 sessions canceled?
Registration for the 2026–27 season has been strong, and the players evaluated in the March 2–6 sessions gave us a clear picture of our rosters. Running additional sessions would not have been a meaningful use of anyone's time.
I didn't receive an offer. What now?
Watch for a separate email with an evaluation of your player and information on our decision. If you're still interested in joining NH Selects, you can submit a Player Inquiry through the Ideal Selects Player form.
I received an offer but can't find it.
Please check your spam folder — the offer comes from NH Selects via the Crossbar platform. Accepting your offer in a timely manner is essential for proper scheduling of the upcoming season. If you still can't find it, email info@nhselects.com.
Can I still join if I missed tryouts?
Yes. Submit a Player Inquiry through the Ideal Selects Player form and we'll be in touch.
When are National Bound tryouts?
National Bound tryouts will be announced in April 2026. Visit the National Bound page for details.
